We would like to welcome the New Year with yet another exciting and vibrant YA workshop where all the YA can participate and contribute constructively. We have a YA retreat scheduled for Jan 9th 2010 in Austin. All YA's are encouraged to attend. Last year we opened the retreat to Group 4 and they seemed to really enjoy it. They will be back this year as well. More details regarding the format, speakers, schedule will be posted here soon. But please mark your calendars and keep checking this space for more details. FAQ's are posted below.

Theme: Tread Softly: Being Green in Thought, Word and Deed.
Tina Schweickert is the author of Tread Softly: Sathya Sai Baba's Teachings on Nature and the Environment (2005). She has an MS in history of science with an emphasis on history of ecology. She received undergraduate degrees in environmental science from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon and fine arts and biology from Pasadena City College, Pasadena, California. Tina worked as an environmental policy analyst and natural resource planner for the State of Oregon and the City of Salem, Oregon preserving forests and watersheds before returning to university life to further her research goals. She also manages a wildlife sanctuary on her Oregon farm. Sai Baba came into her life in 1995. Since then, she has sought to learn and apply His teachings, especially on Nature and its decline under modern culture.

1. Do I have to register?

2. How much does it cost
This YA retreat is totally free. There is absolutely no fee.
3. I have a lot of Facebook buddies. Can I bring them as well?
Sure, please feel free to. But please make sure that you ask your friends to register.
4. Why do I have to register? Can I just walk-in?
We strongly encourage to register. It will help the planning committee plan things a little better. However, we will be able to accept walk-ins as well.
5. What can I expect?
You can expect a full day of workshops that pertain to your every day life. There will be break out session and if you have any ideas, please email us as well.
6. Who can attend?
The Young Adults are helping in organizing the upcoming retreat. This retreat is open to everyone including adults. We encourage the adults to come and share their wisdom and also guide the Young Adults. If you are a YA and have children, you can bring your entire family to the retreat. But please make sure you indicate the total number of people in your party in the comments section of the registration form. However, we are requesting parents to baby sit their own children. There is a separate room for kids.
7. I am flying in. Can someone pick me up?
Sure. Please indicate this in the comments section of the registration form.
8. I am planning on driving to Austin on Jan 8th(friday). Can I stay with a YA?
Yes. We will provide free accommodation if you plan on arriving on Friday. A majority of the folks are arriving on Friday. Please come on Friday. Please indicate this in the comments section of the registration form.
9. Can I carpool from my city?
Most cities are car pooling. Please talk to your local youth coordinator for car pooling information.
